Graduate Spotlight: Kieran’s Journey into the Care Industry

Meet Kieran, a driven and insightful graduate from Bournemouth University’s Business School, where he studied Business Management with a Project Management pathway.

His journey is a testament to how curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to learn can shape a successful pathway to a career in care and business operations.

From Eastleigh Council to Enterprise

Kieran’s professional path began during the pandemic, when he joined Eastleigh Council as an apprentice in Case Management. He worked on planning permissions, building maintenance, and invoice systems gaining early exposure to operational logistics and public service.

During his degree, Kieran then took on a year-long internship with Enterprise, managing fleet operations across branches and working with a diverse client base, from corporate accounts to insurance providers. The role was intense, with long hours and fast-paced decision-making, but it helped Kieran define his career goals and understand the structure and logistics of large organisations.

University Life and Key Takeaways

At Bournemouth, Kieran thrived in the Business Management (Project Management) programme. His favourite module was Supply Chain Management, where he learned how resources are allocated and how companies structure themselves to maximise efficiency.

His biggest takeaway from his time at university? Time management. Balancing coursework, projects, and personal development taught him how to prioritise, stay organised, and deliver results under pressure.
