Why Choose Live In Care

Live in care is gaining in popularity as choosing to stay in your own home as well as getting the dedicated support that is needed offers many benefits.

Often, families think of a care home as their only option, especially if the care needs of their ageing parent exceeds that which can be met by a visiting home care service.

A Live in Carer also means that you are not restricted to the times arranged by visiting care to have companionship and assistance. Life isn’t that ordered, for example, on a sunny day you may decide spontaneously to do some gardening but would need some assistance. With a Live in Carer you are not restricted to the times you have arranged for them to attend, giving you more freedom.

Typically, the costs across the UK, could look like the following:

  • £1,500 weekly for a residential care home

  • £1,100 for a week of live in care

  • £400-£500 for 20 hours home care

How Live in Care Works

Live in Care means that you have a dedicated live in carer with you, living in your home. You will need to be able to provide the carer with their own private room that has a bed.

Your live in carer will be there to support you day and night, keeping you company and helping you to spend each day the way you want to.

There will usually be two dedicated carers to support you and we offer flexible rotas that meet each customers individual needs and requirements so you never need to worry.

Your main carer will be with you for six to eight weeks, then take two weeks off, and this is when the second carer will cover.

The MyLife team is always on hand to both you and your live in carer to support if needed.

Your live in carers will be closely matched to your interests and personal preferences which will have been discovered with you when you first booked your MyLife live in service.
