We are proud to announce that Val Evans has been selected as a finalist in the Great British Care Awards. The Great British Care Awards is a prestigious annual awards ceremony to celebrate excellence in the care sector. Finalists are selected from thousands of nominations.

Always putting a smile on people's faces

Val, aged 73 has worked with Carewatch and MyLife for over 18 years. She was nominated for the Home Care Worker award because of her dedication and loyalty to the role, her clients and her team at MyLife Gillingham in Dorset. She is a highly respected member of staff who always delivers her best, often going above and beyond the call of duty. She also has a great sense of humour, always putting a smile on people’s faces.

Val commented “I am delighted and honoured to receive this nomination, I’ll have to get my hair in rollers and the lippy on!”

Little things that really make the difference

Val was also featured in the Western Gazette earlier this year because she is still delivering care and, over the years, she has never lost her enthusiasm for the role. Living in a rural area, she often goes out and does odd jobs for clients like popping to the shop for milk in the winter, little things that really make the difference.

Janet Chalk, Branch Manager also commented: ” Val is an inspirational person who goes above and beyond, she is loved by all her colleagues and clients.”
